Thriving in 2025

Pumicestone State School 2025 Annual Implementation Plan

Our explicit improvement focus is:

  • Educational Achievement
  • School Culture and Inclusion

Welcome to Term 2, 2025

Welcome back to Term 2!

I hope all families enjoyed a restful and refreshing break.  This term is a 10 week journey filled with opportunities for learning, growth, and community connection.

Our schoolwide focus for Term 2 centres around two key priorities:

  1. Educational Achievement – Our commitment is to ensuring every student is making measurable progress in their learning. Teachers will continue using high-impact teaching strategies and data-informed planning to support every learner. This term, we will also focus on sharpening our use of feedback and goal-setting to help students take ownership of their learning journey.
  2. Culture and Inclusion – We are proud of our diverse and vibrant school community. This term, we continue our work in building a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all students. Events such as Harmony Week and targeted classroom programs will help us celebrate our differences, nurture belonging, and foster positive relationships.

We encourage all families to stay connected with your child’s class and engage with school activities throughout the term.  Strong partnerships between school and home are key to student success.

ANZAC Day

Anzac Day is a significant National Day of Commemoration.

On Friday 25 April 2025, the Australian War Memorial marked the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings, honouring all Australians who have served our country in both war and peace.

ANZAC_March.jpgI was so proud to be the Principal of Pumicestone State School at our local ANZAC Day march.  A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in our school ceremony—it was beautifully led by our students leaders and truly reflected the strength and spirit of our school community. Our Choir and Instrumental band and the visiting trumpeter were excellent. We were also grateful for the support of the wider community, including friends from Halcyon Glades, our local MPs, councillors, and the P&C.

Thank You P&C

A huge thank you to our incredible P&C team for hosting the Democracy Sausage Sizzle over the weekend. Their energy, organisation, and community spirit created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all who visited our school to vote.

Not only did they keep everyone well-fed and smiling, but every dollar raised goes directly back into supporting programs and resources for our students. It’s a wonderful reminder of how powerful community partnerships are in enriching our school.

We are so grateful for the time, effort, and care our P&C gives to Pumicestone. Thank you for everything you do!

Here’s to a productive and positive Term 2 together!
